Louise Baptiste and Heather Bensler join faculty as co-directors, Indigenous Initiatives

September on campus is the month for new faces in our faculty and some new roles for returning members

In late August, Louise Baptiste and Heather Bensler joined the faculty as instructors and co-directors, Indigenous Initiatives. Baptiste will be focused on student supports and community outreach while Bensler, in her tenure track position, will concentrate her efforts on curriculum and faculty development.

Other new tenure track instructors are Caity Mitchell and Kimberly Shapkin. Adding to our assistant professor ranks in July were Gwen McGhan (seniors’ health) and Jacqueline Smith (addictions and mental health).
