What is Start with You?
Start with You is a two-part, highly interactive workshop series for undergraduate students who want to build the mindset, confidence and self-awareness to navigate what’s next.
Your entrepreneurial journey doesn’t begin when you launch a business. It begins with understanding who you are, what you value, what you’re capable of and how you respond when things get uncertain.
Start with You gives undergraduate students the space, practical tools and community to build that foundation.
Across two sessions, you’ll explore your values, strengths, motivations and leadership tendencies and learn how they shape the way you make decisions, work with others and respond when things don’t go according to plan.
You’ll also hear from leadership thinkers and real people who have learned that growth doesn’t come from having all the answers. It comes from knowing yourself, being willing to learn and having the confidence to take the next step.
No business idea required. No experience required. Start with you!

Who is Start with You for?
Start with You is open to UCalgary undergraduate students from all faculties.
You don’t need a business idea, previous entrepreneurial experience or a clear plan for what comes next. This program is for students who are curious about entrepreneurship, personal growth, leadership or simply what might be possible next.
All you need is a willingness to think, reflect, connect and start.

Entrepreneurial thinking isn’t only about starting a business. It’s a way of approaching opportunities, uncertainty and change that you can carry into your education, career, research, ventures and community. Start with You begins with the person behind the idea. By understanding your values, strengths and motivations, you can become more intentional about how you make decisions, work with others and move forward when the path isn’t clear.
At the Hunter Hub, UCalgary’s home for entrepreneurial thinking, you don’t need to know exactly where you’re going before you begin. You just need a place to start—and that place is here.

Know Yourself First

Session 2
Leading Through Uncertainty
October 21, 2026

Learn how to navigate uncertainty, fear of failure and change while building the confidence and community to keep moving forward.
Between sessions
The learning doesn’t stop after Session 1. You’ll have time to reflect on what you’ve learned, gather feedback from people who know you and begin shaping your own Entrepreneur’s Credo—a personal guide grounded in your values, strengths and how you want to show up when things get uncertain.
You’ll bring those reflections back into Session 2, where you’ll build on them with practical tools for navigating uncertainty, change and what comes next.

You don’t need a business idea. You don’t need to call yourself an entrepreneur. And you definitely don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be curious about what’s possible, willing to learn more about yourself and ready to take the next step.
