4.12.10 BA in Music

A. FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.3.1 Major Degree Programs.

B. MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully complete a minimum of 48 units to a maximum of 60 units in Courses Constituting the Field of Music while fulfilling the following requirements:

  1. Foundation Courses:
    1. 15 units Music 213, 214, 230 or 232, 330, 332; and
    2. 3 units at the 300 level in Composition, Sonic Arts or Theory

  2. Music Performance and Musicianship: 9 units from Music 225, 325, and courses labelled Music Performance.

  3. Upper-Level Courses: An additional 21 units from Courses Constituting the Field of Music including:

    1. 6 units in Music History and Literature, Composition, Sonic Arts or Theory at the 400 or 500 level
    2. 15 units at the 300 level or above
