3. Field of Sustainability Studies

Sustainability Studies consists of all courses labelled Sustainability Studies (SUST), and those courses flagged as sustainability-focused or sustainability-related as part of the University Calendar. A full, up-to-date list is maintained on the website of the Office of Sustainability (http://www.ucalgary.ca/sustainability/courses), as course offerings may change regularly or may not be offered every year or term.

Many of the courses listed above have prerequisites that lie outside the Field of Sustainability Studies, may have prerequisites and are typically in high demand. Registration in these courses is not assured. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that prerequisites are completed. We encourage students to speak with the Academic Co-ordinator of Sustainability Studies on a regular basis to assist with certificate planning.

1 The Academic Co-ordinator of Sustainability Studies has expanded on the verbiage regarding the list of courses, should students or faculty believe any new courses should be added, or old ones removed, to please connect with the Academic Co-ordinator to have them included on the list. This list is intended to be a living document that can be amended at any point. Faculties should consult the Academic Co-ordinator independently if they have any questions or concerns with the list and a collaborative effort can be made to ensure its accuracy.
