Use of wearable sensors to monitor physical activity, sleep, and symptoms in generalized myasthenia gravis patients
Summary
We are using wearable devices to understand myasthenia gravis (MG) in new ways. MG is a neuromuscular disease characterized by changing weakness in muscles. The nature of the disease can make symptom tracking hard. With wearable devices, we can collect information about patients' activities and sleep. We will use this information to understand MG patients' experiences and improve treatments.
Eligibility
Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other
Eligible ages: 18 to 100
Inclusion criteria:
1. Adults 18+ years of age
2. Clinical diagnosis of generalized MG
3. Other medical conditions are well-controlled and do not affect mobility
4. Can walk without help
5. Attends the Calgary Neuromuscular Clinic
6. Ability to wear/charge data from wearable device
7. Ability to respond to surveys delivered via email
Exclusion criteria:
1. Diagnosis of ocular-only MG
2. Needs help to walk
3. Individuals who are pregnant
