Preferences for non-surgical management of Osteoarthritis
Summary
This study is about what matters to people in choosing how to take care of their osteoarthritis. Many Canadians have hip or knee osteoarthritis. By 2040, 25% of Canadians will have osteoarthritis. Some people have surgery for their osteoarthritis. There are other ways to take care of osteoarthritis before needing surgery. We want to understand what matters to people when they choose these ways to manage their osteoarthritis. We will talk to people with osteoarthritis about their experience in taking care of their arthritis. This information will help us develop a survey that we will later send to a larger group of people with osteoarthritis.
Eligibility
Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other
Eligible ages: 18 to 80
Inclusion criteria:
People who:
1. Are Living in Alberta
2. Are between 18 and 80 years old
3. Has been told they have osteoarthritis by a health care provider
4. Have at least one hip or knee that has osteoarthritis for which they have not undergone surgery
5. Can speak and write English
