Mapping women's experiences during their reproductive journeys

Summary

Compensation for participation in study: $50 gift card to a local coffee shop

Young women who have complications around pregnancy (such as trouble getting pregnant, hypertension or diabetes during pregnancy) are at a higher risk having cardiovascular problems (such as heart attacks, stroke) early on in their lives. Many times, this risk can be reduced by educating women on how to manage their cardiovascular disease risk factors (through nutrition counselling, exercise programs).

We are collecting experiences from women who are trying to get pregnant or have given birth in the last five years to determine what challenges women are facing in trying to manage their cardiovascular health before, during, and after their pregnancy. We are looking for women to participate in one-time focus groups in Calgary, Alberta (approximately 1 hour time commitment). Participants will also be asked to fill out a demographic questionnaire (5 minute time commitment) and a health literacy questionnaire (10 minute time commitment).
