Iranian immigrant parents experience of raising children in Canada, focusing on children's social-emotional development

Summary

We are conducting a study to understand Iranian immigrant parents experience of raising children in Canada, focusing on children's' social and emotional development. Our goal is to learn how Iranian immigrant parents perceive the importance of social-emotional learning in their child's life, what challenges they face in developing their child's social-emotional skills in Canada, as well as the ways in which they support their children to develop their social-emotional skills (what strategies they use).
What are Social-emotional Learning?
There are many names for social-emotional learning (SEL). Soft skills and noncognitive skills are commonly used terms. Social-Emotional Learning is all about helping children develop important skills that go beyond academics. It focuses on nurturing their ability to understand and manage emotions, build positive relationships, show empathy and compassion towards others and make responsible decisions.

Eligible ages: 20 to 60

Accepts healthy participants: Yes

-Iranian immigrant parents
-Currently live in Canada
--having school-age children
