Get RIPT - Power Training for Youth with Cerebral Palsy

Summary

We want to learn about strength training in youth with Cerebral Palsy. Can it help kids with CP meet their goals? Does it work when we provide it at a community recreation center instead of at a hospital?

Eligibility

Currently recruiting participants: Yes

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other

Eligible ages: 8 to 17

Accepts healthy participants: Yes

Inclusion criteria:

We are looking for young people with Cerebral Palsy who:
1. are aged 8-17
2. can participate in an exercise program for 1 hour, 2-3 times a week for 12 weeks at Mount Royal Recreation Centre.
3. Can understand and follow directions in English
4. Want to work hard to build their strength

Exclusion criteria:

1. Aged 7 or younger
2. Aged 18 or over
3. Cannot follow directions in English
4. Cannot attend the program 2-3 times per week.
