The FOCUSED study: FMT in OCD patients

Summary

This study will explore the safety and efficacy of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) in individuals with OCD. Participants will be given FMT capsules and asked to provide stool, urine, saliva, and blood samples, and will be followed on a weekly basis for a period of 4 months.

Eligibility

Currently recruiting participants: Yes

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other

Eligible ages: 18 to 65

Inclusion criteria:

1- Male and female participants aged 18-65 years.
2- Have a confirmed diagnosis of OCD
3- Be on a stable treatment for OCD and experiencing symptoms
4- Able to communicate and fill questionnaires in English
5- Able to come to the Foothills campus for each of the study visits

Exclusion criteria:

1- Participants with a diagnosis of other psychiatric disorders
2- Participants with chronic gastrointestinal issues
3- Participants using regular anti-inflammatory drugs, iron supplements or pre- and pro-biotics.
4- Pregnant or breastfeeding females
