Expanding Knowledge Landscapes by Generating Supports to Enhance Graduate Student Experience and Mentorship in Preparing Theses
Summary
You are being asked to take part in a pilot research study gauging the interest in and experience with non-traditional theses among graduate students and faculty in supervisory roles at the University of Calgary. We are interested in finding out how many more students or supervisors would want to pursue non-traditional thesis options, and we want to find out how best to support students and supervisors right from the conception of a non-traditional project through to execution and archiving in order to ensure that the research outputs are, high quality, significant, and influential in addition to the formats being accessible and sustainable.

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other
Eligible ages: 17 to 100
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
Our focus is on the interest in and experience of navigating / pursuing / supporting non-traditional theses (see, https://grad.ucalgary.ca/current-students/thesis-based-students/thesis/non-traditional-thesis) at the University of Calgary, as such, we invite those who fall into these categories to consider participating in the study:
1. Current University of Calgary graduate students
2. Recent graduates from any thesis-based graduate programs at the University of Calgary
3. University of Calgary academic staff with thesis supervisory capacity (or interest)
A thesis-based graduate program is any program where the successful completion of a thesis is required for fulfillment of the degree.
