Determining ING1a induced senescence mechanisms
Summary
This study is about looking at genes related to aging. Previous work has shown that there are various ways aging impacts our bodies. Some of these impacts happen at the cellular level and some occur at deeper levels. Some recently identified genes have better correlation with known signs of aging. One such family of genes is known as the ING family, which stands for Inhibitor of Growth.
The purpose of this study is to examine blood samples from people of various age groups. By understanding how these genes work, we will gain insight into the processes of aging. This work could contribute to the eventual development of therapeutic treatments for healthy aging
Eligibility
Eligible gender: Male, Female
Eligible ages: 18 to 100
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
We require 40 donors in total:
- 10 female, ages 18-25
- 10 male, ages 18-25
- 10 female, older than 60 years
- 10 male, older than 60 years
Exclusion criteria:
- Individuals younger than 18 years old.
- Individuals between the ages of 26-59 years.
