Energy vs. Climate

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and other bodies increasingly view carbon dioxide removal (CDR) as a critical tool to reduce CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere and bring global warming back down to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels by century’s end. It seems like new carbon removal startups are springing up weekly. But the barriers to commercializing CDR tech remain daunting. Will CDR live up to its hype or fail to launch?

Energy vs Climate is a live, interactive webinar, a podcast, and occasional newsletter where energy experts Dr. David Keith, PhD; Dr. Sara Hastings-Simon, PhD, associate professor, Department of Earth, Energy and Environment, Faculty of Science; and Ed Whittingham break down the trade-offs and hard truths of the energy transition in Alberta, Canada, and beyond.
