About the Hunter Hub Solutions Lab

In celebration of Sustainability Week (October 23 - 29, 2023) and Social Innovation Week (November 15 – 23, 2023), the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, in partnership with the Office of Sustainability, is proud to present Hunter Hub Solutions Lab: Sustainable Campus. This four-week challenge will dare students to develop an equitable, scalable, and feasible solution that, if executed, would enhance sustainability on our campus. The assigned student teams will submit five-minute pitches via online videos for a panel of judges to assess. The challenge will conclude with a finale, where the three winning teams will be announced.

Running from October 25 to November 21, 2023, students are to spend a maximum of 40 hours working on their solutions and pitches. Students will be placed in teams of five and create pitches no longer than five minutes. Participating students will be granted an honorarium of $525 through Experience Ventures in recognition of their participation in the challenge. In addition to the honoraria, the top three teams will be awarded prizes.

Students will leverage entrepreneurial thinking as they work with UCalgary collaborators and community members to better understand sustainability and develop a solution that if implemented could enhance sustainability on campus.
