Welcome!

On behalf of the University of Calgary, I offer my congratulations to you as you embark on the next phase of your academic journey. You are joining a dynamic campus community of over 6,500 full- and part-time graduate students registered in 70 programs.

Our campus community is a reflection of the city we are located in – a high-energy destination for people like you with ambitious dreams and the drive essential to fulfill them. Energized by our Eyes High 2017-22 vision, the University of Calgary is a global intellectual hub, where students and staff from over 160 countries come to share ideas and perspectives and grow together. As a graduate student you are setting out on a path of discovery, impact and leadership, and please know that you have chosen one of the best places to begin your journey. We are one of Canada’s leading research institutions that is focused on finding answers to global challenges – and we are committed to sharing those answers to benefit communities near and far.

At the University of Calgary, we have developed a terrific ecosystem for graduate education. Whether you are a returning student or someone new to our university, I hope that you will fully engage with the programs and services available from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Graduate Students' Association, and the university to support you with your studies and research.
