A. FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.3.2 Honours Degrees.

B. MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully complete a minimum of 54 units to a maximum of 72 units in the Field of Language and Culture, while fulfilling the following requirements:

1. Core: 12 units

a. 3 units from Language 200 or Linguistics 201

b. 9 units from Language 301, 451, 501

2. Language Area(s): 36 units, of which 3 units must be at the 400 or 500 level, chosen from one of the following:

a. a minor: 30 units in one of the language areas (declared minor): Arabic Language and Muslim Cultures, German, Italian or Russian; and 6 additional units in that same language area

Or

b. two declared concentrations: 18 units in the field of a primary language area; and 18 units in the field of a secondary language area: Arabic Language and Muslim Cultures, German, Italian or Russian.

C. DEGREE OPTIONS

The BA in Language and Culture can be taken with Co-operative Education. See section 3.3.8 Co-operative Education Programs.
