University of Calgary Calendar 2022-2023 Faculty of Arts 3. Faculty Regulations 3.2 Course Regulations 3.2.5 Prerequisites and Corequisites
3.2.5 Prerequisites and Corequisites

All prerequisites for courses offered by the Faculty of Arts must be met with a minimum grade of "C-." Minimum grades in prerequisite courses are required to ensure that students have the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in more advanced courses. In exceptional cases, if students can demonstrate that they have equivalent knowledge to the prerequisite(s) listed, they may seek consent to enrol from the department/school offering the course.

Students are responsible for ensuring that they have all of the prerequisites and corequisites for the courses in which they register. The Faculty checks prerequisites before the drop deadline and removes students who are not eligible to enrol.

Students with deferred work from the previous term will be removed from a course if they fail to achieve a "C-" or above upon completion of the deferred work in the prerequisite course. Students will be liable for the cost of tuition if the deferred grade is reported and registration is cancelled after the drop deadline.
