Summary of Changes for the 2021/22 Calendar
University of Calgary Calendar 2021-2022 Welcome A Message from the President
A Message from the President

The University of Calgary is delighted to welcome you to this collaborative learning environment designed to fuel your curiosity and encourage your growth. When learners enrol here, they become part of a dynamic and thriving community of innovators, creators, and leaders. Together, we create a place where diversity, inclusion and lifelong learning are celebrated as fundamental values, and we regularly “walk the talk.”

A lot has changed for our university, our country, the economy and societies around the globe over the past year. How can students survive and thrive during this historic moment of uncertainty? With a robust university education that creates opportunities for students to conduct original research, gain international experience, develop their entrepreneurial skills, create new knowledge and creative outputs, and engage in work-integrated learning. Regardless of your academic program, we will encourage you to ask larger questions, lead collaborative teams, discover your strengths, and learn how to rise to new challenges.

We are guided by the 2018-23 Academic and Research Plans as our targeted commitment towards cultivating a rich student experience and driving widespread impact. By prioritizing people, connecting communities, driving innovation, matching strengths with opportunities and increasing research capacity, we will uphold UCalgary’s standing as a leading Canadian university.

Over 190,000 University of Calgary alumni are already making their mark on society. Leading political figures, artists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators are just a small sample of the changemakers that began their journey at the University of Calgary.

We are deeply collaborative, globally engaged, and focused on the future. We cannot wait to see what you will create and learn during your time with us. Welcome to the University of Calgary!
