The Lived Experiences of LGBTQ+ Students at the University of Calgary

Summary

The purpose of this research project is to get a better and deeper understanding of the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ students at the University of Calgary. It is designed to generate knowledge that could inform advocacy, policy making, and discussions, while treating participants as experts in the subject matter. It is the intention of this research to serve as a useful resource for university leaders, administrators, policymakers, faculties, campus based LGBTQ+ groups and centres by providing insights into the perceived challenges facing gender sexual minorities, and the solutions being suggested by this group of people.

Eligibility

Currently recruiting participants: Yes

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other

Eligible ages: 18 to 65

Accepts healthy participants: Yes

Inclusion criteria:

1. Adult students aged 18 years old to 65 years old.
2. Currently pursuing study programs at the University of Calgary.
3. Identify as an LGBTQ+ individual (i.e., gender and/or sexual minority).
4. Show an interest in the study and sign informed consent.
