Initial Orthostatic Hypotension (IOH): Exploring Patient Quality of Life
Summary
This study is looking at the patient experience living with IOH. IOH presents as light-headedness, nausea, or dizziness upon standing. Many people, including physicians, don't know what IOH is, therefore patients may be symptomatic for extended periods of time without knowing what is causing their symptoms. There is very little information and treatments available for IOH patients. This study is aimed at filling in some of those gaps and hopefully revealing more about the indicators and negative impacts of this disorder.
In this study, you will participate in a one-on-one phone interview with a member of the research team lasting approximately 20 minutes. We will ask you questions about your experience with IOH such as, how has it affected your social, personal, and professional career etc.
Eligibility
Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other
Eligible ages: 18 to 80
Inclusion criteria:
1) Diagnosed with initial orthostatic hypotension (IOH)
2) Age 18-80
3) Male or Female
4) Able and willing to provide informed consent
5)Ability to participate in a phone interview.
Exclusion criteria:
1) Persons with other serious illness/disorders
