Ilagiingniq: Inuit Perinatal Health & Wellness Project in Arviat, Nunavut

Summary

The Ilagiingniq project is being conducted in Arviat, Nunavut with Inuit women. The project will aim to improve the health of Inuit women. The project will learn how to create supports for Inuit women who are about to give birth. With Inuit women in Arviat, we will create pamphlets and videos to prepare Inuit women to give birth. These pamphlets and videos will include Inuit culture and understandings. The pamphlets and videos will be given to women in the community before and after they give birth. We will determine if the pamphlets and videos help them in ways that are important to them. Some information will also go to improve health centres to support Inuit better.
