Exploring social networks of native-born residents and their attitudes toward second language speech

Summary

We are currently seeking participants for a study to investigate:
1. The social networks of native-born residents of Calgary
2. How native-born residents of Calgary judge the speech of people who speak English as a second language

Eligibility

Currently recruiting participants: No

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other

Eligible ages: 25 to 70

Accepts healthy participants: Yes

Inclusion criteria:

To be eligible for participation, you must:
1. Be at least 25 years old
2. Be a native-born resident of Calgary
3. Be a current resident of Calgary who has lived there exclusively for the five years prior to this study (at least since September of 2015)
4. Use English as a primary language for interaction in your daily life. This may be in addition to other languages that you use on a daily basis.
5. Have access to a computer with an Internet connection to complete the online tasks required for the study

No other experience or qualifications are necessary. Participation involves two online sessions that will last around two hours total.
