Emotion-Aware Character Chatbots in Film
Summary
We are recruiting users to help us test a prototype interactive film system, where you can speak to chatbots representing some of the characters. We want to study how users feel about this new interactive experience, and how users will respond to the chatbots.
You will be guided through the study by an interviewer in a Zoom call. While watching a short animated video, you will have the opportunity to send messages to virtual chatbots representing some of the story characters, through our demo website. You will be asked to use your webcam and microphone to send messages to these chatbots, which will also try to analyze your emotions. Your video/audio when talking to the chatbots will be private to the interviewer.
The study is estimated to take up to 1 hour, 15 minutes. You will be compensated $10 for your time, via Interac E-Transfer, Paypal or an Amazon gift card.

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other
Eligible ages: 18 to 45
Accepts healthy participants: Yes
Inclusion criteria:
To be eligible for this study, you must be:
1) Between the ages of 18-45.
2) Comfortable with using Zoom to facilitate the interview, with a stable Internet connection.
Exclusion criteria:
You are not eligible to participate if you are:
1) Not within the eligible age range.
