Summary

We are studying how emotional information is processed in those with a history of depression. For this study we will be recruiting individuals who have different experiences with depression, including those with no history of depression. Our study seeks to further understand differences in the way that emotional stimuli are processed that may be related to depression occurrence. Our study seeks to further understand how our mind processes information in a way that may make an individual vulnerable to developing depression.

Eligibility

Currently recruiting participants: No

Eligible gender: Female

Eligible ages: 25 to 65

Accepts healthy participants: Yes

Inclusion criteria:

women ages 25-65, who:

1) have no history of depression or mental health concerns
2) have a history of depression in their lifetime but are not currently depressed
3) are currently struggling with depression

Exclusion criteria:

current or lifetime substance or alcohol abuse, psychosis, or bipolar disorder.
