Asymptomatic Carotid Surgery Trial

Summary

The purpose of this study is to compare the results of treating blockages in carotid arteries in asymptomatic patients with either carotid endarterectomy (surgery) OR carotid stenting. The information we get from this study may help us to provide better treatments in the future for patients with carotid artery stenosis.

Eligible gender: Male, Female, Transgender, Other

Eligible ages: 18 to 100

Inclusion criteria:

Patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis – diagnosed by imaging
