All-day Tracking of Human Walking with Inertial Measurement Units
Summary
We would like to study how human walking patterns change as people age and their sense of balance changes. Current research done on aging and its effects on balance are typically done under controlled experiments in laboratory settings and may not give us accurate information about how people move in "real life.”
We are looking for older participants who would be interested in using wearable sensors for a week to keep track of their steps. We will follow their activities for the week and compare their movements to that of younger participants. Anyone who regularly walks, runs, skips, or hops during their daily life is invited to join.
The study will be conducted remotely, using equipment that will be disinfected.
