CGI PART 1:

ebook.cgi is an example of a script which allows one to pass up to four variables into the catalogue.

If the program is called without any QUERY_STRING an information message appears:

No record found, no search terms provided.

Example of proper usage:
http://nut.lib.ucalgary.ca/uhtbin/ebook.cgi?general=love+trees&subject=biology&title=science&mesh=cadaver

You can provide all 4 variables, or 3 or 2 or 1 but you must label the variable names:

        general, subject, title, mesh
General searches general keyword index, subject searches subject indexes, title searches
title index and mesh the mesh index.

Then follow the variable label with an equals sign and the term(s) you want to
search in that variable.  Multiple terms are separated with plus signs.
Ampersands separate the variable/search string pairs from following variables

Delivery of our holdings (monographic and serial) prior to version 99 via a relais.cgi script

monographic holdings

This program uses Bernardo's korn script wrapper which calls his C program sirsicgi so that the necessary seltools for returning the holdings can be used.

CGI PART 3:

Two cgi programs deliver listing of new items by fund

Gateway element points newbyfund.cgi

Select the fund of interest ... calls another cgi program fund.cgi

Results of the fund.cgi:

Clicking on the VIEW button calls ckey.cgi
