
Thais Ferreira da Silva graduated in Food Engineering at the Federal University of Lavras, Brazil (UFLA-2015), and a Postgraduate in Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil (UNIFESP- 2018). Currently, a Ph.D. student in Materials Science and Engineering at the Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil (UNIFESP-2023), and the University of Calgary. She obtained the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) scholarship from the University of Calgary. Her experience is in materials engineering, with an emphasis on polymers, composites, and nanocomposites, mainly in the following areas: polymer melt processing; biodegradation of polymeric materials; biopolymers, biodegradable packing, antistatic packing, clay/polymer nanocomposites, and nanocomposites processing.
