Job Description:
Two PDF positions are available in Intelligent Geospatial Data Mining Laboratory in Department of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Calgary for a postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team developing novel geospatial AI algorithms and systems for logistics, such as smart route recommendation system for transporting goods, and optimization of regional logistics networks for parcel delivery services. The work will involve data collection and preprocessing, algorithm design and software system development based on the project milestones.
This project is a part of NRC/UoC AI4Logistics projects. The postdoctoral fellow will be closely collaborating with NRC, the company and government sponsors. In addition, the PDF is expected to mentor other team members. This position is located in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate is expected to relocate if necessary, to begin work as soon as possible.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field with a focus in one or more areas, including artificial intelligence, spatial data mining, and logistics engineering.
Familiarity or background in trajectory mining or reinforcement learning is an asset.
The applicant should be motivated and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
The successful candidates will have a proven record of success and be able to conduct research independently as well as part of a team.
To be eligible as a Postdoctoral scholar at the University of Calgary, you must have been awarded a PhD or equivalent within the five (5) years immediately preceding the appointment.
