One of the first of its kind in Canada, the Haskayne Doctor of Business Administration will prepare graduates to address complex organizational challenges and become thought-leaders in their field of interest. Developed for senior business leaders and academics, the DBA is designed to build superior research, critical thinking and analytical skills in the context of current issues in the business world.
The Haskayne DBA combines graduate-level courses with a rigorous research component consisting of independent inquiry and a thesis. Upon completion of the program, students become practitioner-scholars and are equipped with the skills to improve business practices through the application of scholarly knowledge.

A Doctor in Business Administration is usually considered a final degree.
The course content of the DBA is completed through an alternative format designed for career professionals.
Students will be required to submit and defend an original research thesis.
Students will complete a research proposal and both oral and written candidacy exams.

Requirements for the Management Program
A minimum of 3.50 GPA on a 4.0 point system.
A post-baccalaureate degree (MBA or relevant business-focused Master’s degree). Students with credential in an area other than business may require to complete a qualifying period to gain general business background before beginning the doctoral course requirements.
At least 10 years of management experience, including seven years at the senior management or executive level, or at least five years’ experience as lecturer/instructor in a relevant field in a college or university program.
A 500 word essay summarizing up to three books that have influenced your management practice in the last 10 years.
English language proficiency
An applicant whose primary language is not English may fulfill the English language proficiency requirement in one of the following ways:
TOEFL score of 97 with no section less than 20 (Internet-based) or 580 (paper-based). Our institution code is 0813.
IELTS score of 7.0 with no section less than 6.0 (Academic version).

General fees and program fees
General fees are annual and per-term fees. Annual fees are paid once per year, while per-term are paid each term (3 terms per year).
Program fees cover standard academic costs. Textbooks and other course material costs are not included.
What are annual continuing fees?
Continuing fees will be charged: $10,000 for year four and $5,000 per year for any subsequent year. There is no international differential tuition fee.
