Triathlon

Fall 2019 Registgration will commence Sept. 1.
As a result of some possible venue changes, and bike storage options,  fall registration will be delayed until Sept. 1. With the possible new locations there will be an added cost to the program, stay tuned for details. 

The University of Calgary Triathlon Club is one of the largest and most successful triathlon clubs in the city. Club members train and encourage others to strive to be the best. Novice to experts are welcome. Triathlon is one of the most challenging sports to be involved in. Challenge yourself.

Mon/Weds - 7:15pm to 8:15pm  Bike and run sessions at Brick Workout 
Tues/Thur - 7:00pm to 8:30pm  Swim sessions at the University of Calgary Aquatic Centre
Thur - 5:30pm to 6:45pm   Run sessions at Brick Workout Fitness Centre
Sun - 12:00pm to 4:00pm   Bike sessions starting at Brick Workout Fitness Centre
Sun - 4:00pm to 6:00pm   Swim sessions at the University of Calgary Aquatic Centre

In order to participate in this club, there are pre requisites for the swim session, see the description for more details.  All participants  will have a swim test on the first day.  Please expect 4-6 swimmers per lane.

Please note the Triathlon Bike Cage not being manned and/or supervised at all times and that the University of Calgary shall have no obligation to provide personnel, surveillance or security in or around the Triathlon Bike Cage. The use of any bike locking method(s) are provided by the bicycle owner, to secure the bike at all times.

Youth Triathlon

Join the longest-serving Triathlon Club in Canada! Learn proper swimming, biking and running technique from highly trained coaches. We have spin bikes for those who do not have a road bike and trainer. Training develops your aerobic and anaerobic systems to give you a good base for all sports. You will work with other youth at your level, with progression from start up, all the way to national team level training. The goal will be to have you ready to compete in The Kids of Steel Triathlon Series if you’re interested. This program welcomes athletes of all level.

Requirements: Successful completion of skills in Level 6.
Swimmers develop front crawl (25m), learn back crawl (25m) and whip kick on back, learn stride dive and treading water, perform head-first sculling on back, and swim 75 meters continuously.


Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:45pm are bike and run sessions @ Cycle Centre on the track level of Fitness Centre
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm-8:30pm are swim sessions @ the UofC Aquatic Centre
