Intro To Backpacking

Perfect for the beginner backpacker, this course combines the Backpacking Basics Lecture with an easy overnight trip in Kananaskis. Learn the skills needed to enjoy multi-day backcountry trips, then head out with an experienced guide to put it all into practice. Prerequisite: good physical condition. Includes: guide, overnight permits/fees, group camping gear.

Spring Leg-stretcher Overnight

Kick off your backpacking season in spring! This June overnight trip is the perfect easy start to your year. Enjoy a leisurely trek to a pretty campground that's snow-free early in the season and a great chance to get out early.
This trip is intended for those with some previous backpacking experience and moderate fitness level.

Backpacking Leman Lake

Get off the beaten path for the long weekend! On this three-day trip, we'll trek through wildflower meadows over Burstall Pass to reach a rarely-visited part of Banff National Park and camp for two days with a day hike in between.
This trip is suitable for experienced backpackers in excellent shape.

Backpacking Skoki Valley

Skoki is a hidden treasure of alpine meadows, lakes, and peaks tucked behind the Lake Louise Skihill. This four-day backpacking trip allows plenty of time to explore the entire region, including moderate daily backpacking distances and a number of side trips.
This trip is suitable for experienced backpackers in good physical condition.  

Backpacking Expeditions - Teens

Head out to the mountains in Kananaskis with our backpacking guides for a multi-day trip of exploring and backcountry camping! Our guides will teach you route-finding, navigation, backcountry cooking, campsite management, and animal safety! Options include 3-Day, 4-Day, or 5-Day trips.
Please Note: this program involves travel in a 15-passenger van, driven by a trained and qualified driver.

Expeditions are activity-based, multi-day overnight trips. Please review the list of required items in the details below that you will be expected to bring. Each expedition also has a pre-trip meeting that guardians and participatns must attend. In that meeting, guides will discuss the required items and cover meal planning (food is not included).
