Medicine 2 Write Home About

There is increasing recognition that studying arts and humanities may encourage self-awareness, while fostering professionalism and communication skills among learners.  Seeing the value of the arts in medicine, several students from the Cumming School of Medicine, with support from the Health and Humanities Committee, created Medicine 2 Write Home About (M2WHA).

The initiative takes the form of a recurring three-hour art happening, in which participants are invited to create a postcard based on a recent medical learning or experience. In so doing, M2WHA creates an inviting space for anyone frequenting a teaching hospital— medical student, faculty, staff, visitor— to pause, reflect and imaginatively share the joys of learning with someone else.
