Wellness workshops and training available this fall

Over the last year, universities have seen a dramatic increase in the number of students seeking mental health support.
Wellness workshops and training available this fall

Due to the pandemic and ongoing changes, many students have faced various degrees of declining mental health. We may not always have control over our circumstance, but one thing we can control is how we interpret and deal with stressors that come our way

While single-session counselling and coordinated-care offerings remain at the forefront of mental health services at Student Wellness Services (SWS), this year, students can expect to see a stronger focus on a health promotion perspective and an increase in virtual workshops and training options.

Participating in SWS workshops can help you understand what stressors may trigger negative responses and give you the tools you need to manage them. Not only do they contribute to developing a healthy mindset, they also help you recognize when others are in need of support. Wellness education can have a positive impact on increasing your mental health awareness and help-seeking behaviours.

This fall, SWS has many virtual workshops and training options to explore. Check the events calendar often for new additions.
