Shaghayegh is a Ph.D. student at the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Program and collaborating with the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the University of Calgary. She have been working on polymer nanocomposite based electromechanical sensors (force and strain sensors) and smart polymer nanocomposite for wearable and stretchable electronics. Moreover, in our published articles, they suggest hybrid structures formed by combining CNTs with other nanofillers such as Hexagonal boron nitride or microfillers such as steel fibers (SSF) is a promising approach towards multifunctionality and enhanced structural integrity (e.g. aircraft structures). Moreover, she is involved in the synthesis and optimization of nanomaterials such as silver nanowire and its functions in flexible electronics. She received many honors and awards such as the Alberta Innovate Technology Future (AITF), Eyes-High International Doctoral Scholarship, and Faculty of Graduate Studies Scholarship in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Graduate Student Leadership and Citizenship award, and the best presentation award in ICMME 2018 conference and the first poster presentation in the Graduate Student Association (GSA) Interdisciplinary Research Symposium.
