Jess Neufeld joined the Sports Injury Prevention Research Centre in early 2022 as a Research Assistant and for the last year has been a member of the Research Coordinator team working on the SHRed Concussions Research Program. Winnipeg born, Jess made the move to Calgary in 2011 to complete his Bachelor of Sciences in Biology at the University of Calgary while competing in the sport of speedskating. Jess competed on the National Team for a number of years and represented Canada in World Cups and World Championships. Enthusiastic in sport and science, the transition to this lab was the natural path forward to combine both interests and be involved in impactful research. When not working in the lab, Jess enjoys spending time in the mountains and photography. Jess is also an active ambassador to the KidSport Calgary program and is involved in the cycling community as a coach and mentor for young athletes.
