Welcome to the Calgary Gut Motility Centre Website

Our goal is to improve the medical care for people with gut motility disorders through clinical service and research.

We are a team of consulting Gastroenterologists, Researchers and Nurses active in the discovery and development of new diagnostic tools and treatments for gut motility disorders such as gastroparesis, irritable bowel syndrome and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

We are based in Western Canada at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine and at South Health Campus, Calgary.

We are currently conducting research in the following areas: Barrett's Esophagus, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS-C and IBS-D) and Gastroparesis.

Calgary is one of the participating sites in the Canada-wide IMAGINE study. IMAGINE brings together researchers with wide-ranging expertise (gastroenterologists, microbiologists, psychiatrists and basic scientists) to learn more about causes and treatments for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).  Dr Andrews appeared on Breakfast Television in Calgary recently to talk about IBS and upcoming studies.  Click here to view.

We are continuing to recruit for our Gastroparesis study in Calgary in 2017!  Now accepting patients with either Ideopathic or Diabetic Gastroparesis.
