Please join us for an educational presentation with Ryan Jepson, Acting Inspector in charge of the Technical Operations Section of the Calgary Police Service.

The Calgary Police Service recognizes that cyber-criminals are victimizing individuals and businesses in Calgary. From ransomware to data breaches the public expectation is that the police provide a comprehensive response to these types of crimes.

The Calgary Police Service’s Cyber Program aims to reduce the threat, impact and victimization of cyber-crime, In this presentation Acting Inspector Jepson will talk about the key components of this program and how private industry and the law enforcement can work together to address cyber-crime.

About the Speaker

Ryan Jepson is the Acting Inspector in charge of the Technical Operations Section of the Calgary Police Service leading teams with specializations in digital forensics, cybercrime, economic crime, arson, auto theft, and electronic surveillance. Ryan has been a member of the Calgary Police Service for 21 years and worked in a variety of roles including front line patrol and supervision; high risk offender management; and drug, organized crime, and sexual assault investigations. He is a member of a National Digital Forensics Committee and a National Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance Committee - which are collaborations of the justice community and private sector developing national standards for investigative excellence. Ryan holds a Master’s Degree in Justice and Public Safety Leadership from Royal Roads University, a Certificate in Information Assurance and Risk Management and a Certificate in Information Assurance from the Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity at the University of Washington.
