Interventional Pulmonary Medicine Program
The Interventional Pulmonary Medicine Centre at the University of Calgary was initiated by Dr. Alain Tremblay in 2001. We currently have four physicians within our group: Dr. Alain Tremblay, Dr. Paul MacEachern, Dr. Chris Hergott, and Dr. Elaine Dumoulin. The center's focus is on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign and malignant disease as well as outpatient management of malignant pleural disease.
In addition to providing clinical services, the center plays an important role in procedural training for residents and fellows in internal medicine, anaesthesia, ENT, critical care, thoracic surgery, pulmonary medicine and also offers a one year interventional pulmonary training program.
Our research program is expanding with active clinical and pre-clinical protocols spanning diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy as well as pleural disease management.
