Biography

Chenhua joined the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Calgary as a PhD student in September 2017.  In 2017, Chenhua received her MSc in Biological Sciences at University of Manitoba and in 2015 she obtained her BSc of Agriculture at Northwest A&F University, China.

Working under the supervision of Drs. James Wasmuth (UofC) and Cam Goater (UofL), Chenhua’s project is entitled: “An omics-level understanding of a host-manipulating parasite.” She is studying the zombie ants which are caused by a trematode parasite Dicrocoelium dendriticum. The objective of this project is to discover the mediators of the Dicrocoelium-ant interaction using genomics and metabolomics approaches.
