Submitting IT-Specific Work Requests

If you have access to a working computer;

  • Send an email to scihelp@ucalgary.ca. This request will go to Mike, but at the same time, generates a ticket number for the IT request. In addition, the request is available to the Faculty of Science Help Desk, so if Mike is away or unavailable, there will always be an alternate IT support person to help you. To assist in making sure your requests get flagged as chemistry please include Chemistry in the subject line.
  • Use the Science IT Web interface http://help.science.ucalgary.ca. You can input and monitor the status, progress and history of your support tickets vie the Science IT Web Interface. The URL to the help desk system is:

 If you don’t have access to a working computer or network:

  • Phone Mike at 403-220-7228
  • Phone the Faculty of Science IT helpdesk at 403-220-6613

Please be aware that the Faculty of Science IT helpdesk is not a replacement for Campus IT’s helpdesk. In general, UCIT is responsible for email, web hosting, Business Management Software, software such as Peoplesoft and course management software. When in doubt, ask Mike for help and he will let you know if UCIT needs to be contacted.

Please let Mike know if you have any questions or concerns – any feedback is greatly appreciated and will be communicated back to the Science IT group.
