University of Calgary libraries will be closed on April 30 for a staff professional development day

Please be advised that all University of Calgary libraries including the Taylor Family Digital Library will close for the day on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. This will enable all staff in Libraries and Cultural Resources to attend an important professional development day.

Regarding the TFDL specifically, individuals who are visiting the Prairie Regional Research Data Centre or attending meetings in the Student Success Centre or Alumni Association Boardroom will have access to the building.

We value our staff and believe it is important to commit time for development and training in order to be indispensable and provide transformative user-centric services that are central to the campus experience.

The closure applies to the Archives and Special Collections reading room on the 5th floor of the TFDL, the Copyright Office and our facilities located off main campus: Health Sciences Library, High Density Library and the Library and Archives at The Military Museums.

Please collect reserve materials or consult with librarians and Copyright Office staff before the end of the day on Monday, April 29. We recommend that materials at the High Density Library be requested on or before Thursday, April 25.

This staff development day was scheduled between academic terms to minimize any inconvenience. Normal operations will resume at 8 a.m. on May 1.

Vice-Provost (Libraries and Cultural Resources)
