Risk Modeling Methodology, Tools and Demonstration


Abstract:

 

The Project Risk Modelling group at TransCanada provides quantitative analysis that feeds the company’s strategic decision-making process. Risk projects are diverse across fields of safety, finance, economics, and engineering decision models as well as providing assessments on the risk of development projects’ capital/operating budget forecasts. The presentation will provide a demonstration of the range of risk modelling initiatives developed by the group as well as methodology and tools.

 

 

 

About the Speaker:

 

Alexis Hudy graduated from the University of Calgary in June 2006 with a B.Sc. Manufacturing Engineering, minor applied mathematics. In the summer of 2005 Alexis worked in lean systems design as a summer internship student at Eaton Cutler-Hammer in Calgary gaining experience in manufacturing fundamentals. Following graduation, Alexis began with TransCanada PipeLines in the Asset Reliability group, Core Systems Integrity. At TransCanada, major projects include risk analysis and discrete event simulation of compression service assets on the pipeline.
