Measuring Efficiency Using Data Envelopment Analysis: Managerial and Implementation Issues

Abstract:

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) allows an organization to measure the relative efficiency of its Decision Making Units.  It provides detailed advice on each manager’s unique improvement challenges.  It can be used to assess bank branches, service stations, franchise outlets, etc.  Murray Howland will discuss his experience in using DEA to analyze the relative efficiency of bank branches.  He will offer practical advice on how to design a DEA analysis that will identify real opportunities to improve efficiency.
