John Wilson

President, CEO, Innovate Calgary

Innovate Calgary is the innovation transfer and incubation hub at the University of Calgary. As its President and CEO, John Wilson, PhD, leads his team and works closely with the Vice-President Research Office and the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking to create economic and social impact for our campus community, city, province and beyond. After completing his PhD at the University of Bristol, he was Research Fellow at Virginia Tech and Research Associate at the University of Bristol before joining Unilever HPC as Project Manager. Dr. Wilson has remained at the intersection of where research and commercialization meet, as CEO of a Unilever-backed spinout company, Technology Transfer Office Liaison for Yale University and the University of Oxford, and Director of Innovation at Brock University before taking leadership of Innovate Calgary.
