The Engineering and Science Fund was made possible by a founding gift from Dr. Bruce McGee, Meng’89, PhD, through the McMillan-McGee Foundation. Additional support also provided by Chantal Barcelo, BA’05.
Investment and fund eligibility
Investment
$50,000 up to $300,000
Criteria
- Applicant must be directly or indirectly connected to a leading Canadian University or Technical Institute
- For-profit enterprise
- Technology Readiness Level (TLR) Stage 1-9
- UCeed Engineering and Science focuses on technologies that have a material engineering and science component
- UCeed Engineering and Science is interested in impactful technologies that have a business plan/opportunity to commercialize
- UCeed Engineering and Science has a “founders first” investment philosophy
- UCeed Engineering and Science prepared to lead deals for very early stage companies
