About:

DDRC works to include people with developmental disabilities into the community such as being able to attend the same school as other children and in the same classroom, securing a job with real wages, living in a real home of your own choosing, and having friends.

The DDRC not only provides programs and services to support children and adults with developmental disabilities, but also exists as a resource centre to the general public to support the inclusion of all people.

Services:

  • Community Living Network (CLN): Helps adults with disabilities live in the community they choose, by themselves or with a roommate.
  • Career and Leisure Services (CLS): Supports people as they work, join clubs, volunteer, and make friends in their communities.
  • Learning and Leadership: Offers training packages to meet the needs of any workplace
  • Comprehensive Care: Supports people with a many different needs, from disabilities to old age. All work is supervised by Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Participation in Academics and Career Exploration (P.A.C.E.): A four to five year program that provides 18 to 25 year olds with part-time support to help them reach their goals.
  • Resource Centre for Inclusion: Including Disability Awareness Training and community development.
