About:

Chrysalis is an Alberta society for citizens with disabilities. They provide vocational, alternatives to employment and employment services to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • eligible for PDD (Persons with Developmental Disabilities)
  • have a diagnosed disability
  • are over the age of 18
  • have a stabilized mental illness
  • are motivated and committed
  • are responsible for own transportation

Services include: 

  • Vocational Services provides goal-directed training and on-the-job support. 
  • Life management courses teach problem-solving skills which individuals can apply to all areas of life.
  • Alternatives to Employment (AES): assists and supports individuals with primary developmental disabilities who desire meaningful day activities. Clients contribute to the community through volunteer opportunities. AES encourages community inclusion while enhancing the individual’s gifts and abilities. 
  • Horticulture and plant care program 
  • Multimedia Program: learning activities and skill development through the use of games and technology 
  • Active leisure centre
  • Music therapy program 
  • Therapeutic art program 
  • Craft program 
  • Reading program 
  • Conductors club: model train club 
  • Culinary demonstration program
