Making Experiential Learning a Cornerstone of the UCalgary Experience
Presented by Erin Kaipainen & Laurel Sherriff
How do we get there and how can you help?
In December 2019, the University of Calgary passed an ambitious plan to make Experiential Learning a central part of the student experience by 2025. At this session you’ll learn about the key priorities for expanding and enhancing EL, current projects underway, and have the opportunity to explore how academic programs and program advisors can help students navigate EL opportunities through the use of Experiential Major maps.
The Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning is looking for a handful of programs to pilot the development of experiential major maps as part of a collaborative project with the Education Advisory Board (EAB). In this session, Erin Kaipainen and Laurel Sherriff of the TI hope to capture your feedback on the opportunities and challenges of such a pilot.
