Biography
"We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone" - Ronald Reagan
Seniru is a second year Software Engineering student and Schulich Scholar at the U of C, choosing this program due to his inherent desire to critically analyze, solve and design solutions for problems.
A passionate leader, Seniru's ethos on life is based on bringing people together. Seniru strongly believes that society is only as strong as its future generations, striving to create engineering outreach opportunities, research literacy as a research lead at Youreka Canada, and mentoring students at the university and high school level. He also holds a consulting position at Neo Financial with the UCalgary Consulting Club, aiming to create greater outreach for the fintech sector in Calgary.
Seniru also has a voracious appetite for politics and global affairs, and thoroughly enjoys activities related to this, including Debate and Model United Nations, which have provided an outlet for him to ensure his voice is heard. His strengths in public speaking and critical writing alongside his degree's focus have made him interested in a future at law school, where he intends to specialize in intellectual property law. As a career, he is looking into academia, where he can research new trends in IP law and delve into its ramifications on society.
Outside of these, Seniru considers himself a foodie, and he enjoys golfing, reading, watching movies, following sports, or playing the piano.
